Ok, I confess, I’ve been neglecting my adventure duties for
the past couple of weeks, but I promise I have a good excuse. I’ve been sidetracked by some music commitments, so I think that makes it ok.
The first was that I had to finish the final mixing and
mastering of the latest track I’ve been working on. Its
an old song that I’ve made new with the help of my dear friend Asher
Ettinger. It’s called ‘Drive’.
Some of my old Aussie fans might remember it, though it’s a bit
different sounding now.
We really wanted to paint a picture with sound and tried to capture the
atmosphere of
driving into the night…
The other commitment was a last minute invite to perform at
a very special gig. It was for a memorial for a children’s hospice, a ceremony to remember
and celebrate the lives of all of the children who had passed away at the hospice over the past few years. It took quite a bit of preparation, as I had to learn a bunch of new songs in a short space of time, including one of my favourites "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". The event was very sad, but very
beautiful at the same time and I felt honoured to be a part of it.
I am so grateful to have music in my
life, a gift that I can share with people, especially at moments like this one,
where it can help to bring comfort during difficult times. Gigs like this, make the pursuit of a musical journey seem like a worthy and meaningful one, despite it's inherent ups and downs.
Now...I have some really exciting adventures planned for the
coming weeks, so stay tuned, I promise I won’t disappoint :)
